First Time Home Buyer Program

Offering Homes in The Borough of State College

How it Works

The HOME Foundation collaborates with the State College Borough and the State College Community Land Trust to offer homes to low-to moderate-income households to First Time Home Buyers. THF acquires homes from sellers in the borough, rehabilitates them and sells them to FTHB. The FTHB can acquire a gap loan to reduce the principal of their primary mortgage so it is more affordable that does not need to be re-payed until the home is resold.

Upcoming Projects

The HOME Foundation is currently rehabilitating a wonderful two bedroom home in the State College Borough. If your household income is below 80% of the Area Median Income (see chart here) and are interested, please contact our Housing Counselors about the steps to apply. You'll start with comprehensive Budget, Credit Counseling and First Time Home Buyer Education.  They can help each step of the way!
