The HOME Foundation (THF) was formed in 1988. Originally, it was the fundraising arm of Housing Transitions, its sister organization, then called Temporary Housing Inc. In 1998, THF became a Community Housing Development Organization with the State College Borough as its Participating Jurisdiction.

 

The organization began offering First Time Homebuyer (FTHB) Education and Budget Counseling and also buying, rehabilitating and then selling homes to FTHBs. Since 1998, THF has acquired, rehabbed, and sold over 30 homes to FTHB. In addition, THF has built a small portfolio rental units offered at a reduced rate to income-qualified individuals and families in the State College Borough.
